Dahab and Red Sea Diving

Diving the Red Sea

underwater shots by divemasters Jean and Dezlee

The Red Sea by Sinai is one of the best scuba diving sites in the world. South Sinai's breath-taking scenery, along with its turquoise-blue water, bright-colored corals and exotic fauna, make scuba diving in Dahab a fantastic experience. Divers from all over the globe come to explore Egypt's famous Red Sea sites such as the Thistlegorm wreck and the Blue Hole. It is worth trying on some scuba gear and plopping in the water to discover a whole new world.

There are approximately 17 dive sites around Dahab. Sites suit all levels of divers, from beginners to advanced/technical. The most popular diving sites include:

  • The Blue Hole: An awesome wall dive for experienced divers only;

  • The Canyon: A spectacular underwater canyon surrounded by coral walls and interesting marine fauna, including a fishbowl filled with glassfish;

  • Eel Garden: A sandy bottom site, part of it home to a whole bunch of garden eels;

  • The Islands: One of the best-preserved coral reefs in the Red Sea, this labyrinth of coral pinnacles is worth visiting;

  • The Lighthouse: A great site for beginners with a sandy bottom, packed with incredible and colorful fish and other sea creatures, including a resident sea horse.
